Motivation to Move More

I saw this article about a year ago now and thought it was a great idea.

Methodist Ministers Seek Stress Relief

Actually, I just know that I am more committed to physical activity when I have some sort of accountability!  If someone is waiting on me to go for a walk, I am more likely to get out of the bed at 5:30 a.m., then if I am just walking by myself!

I have discovered that if I have a physically demanding "vacation" planned, I will commit to being fit for it.  A few years ago, my motivation for going to the gym was "I don't want to die at the bottom of the Grand Canyon."  Two years ago, it was, "I don't want to die on top of Mt. LeConte.

This year, my motivation is just that I don't want to be embarrassed that my sister has to wait on me as we hike!

Whatever the motivation, lots of times, it is easier with a friend.
